Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. At launch Bussey uses only the cookies required to run the storefront and process your order — we are not, at this stage, using marketing, advertising, or third-party analytics cookies. This Policy will be updated, and your fresh consent sought where required, if that changes.
Last updated: April 2026
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device by websites you visit. They allow the website to recognise your device on return visits, remember your preferences (such as the contents of your shopping bag), and help us understand how the site is being used. Some are essential for the site to work; others are optional. "Similar technologies" — pixels, tags, local storage, software development kits — work similarly and are covered by this Policy.
2. The cookies we use at launch
ggbussey.com is built on Shopify. At launch, the cookies dropped on your device when you visit fall into three categories. All are first-party cookies (set by Shopify on our behalf); we do not set any third-party advertising or social-media cookies at this time.
A. Strictly necessary
These cookies make the site work. They remember what is in your shopping bag, hold your session as you move between pages, secure your checkout, authenticate your account if you have one, and prevent fraud. The site cannot function without them, and they do not require your consent under any of the privacy frameworks that apply to Bussey (GDPR, UK GDPR, Australian Privacy Principles, CCPA). Examples: cart and checkout cookies, session-identifier cookies, CSRF (anti-forgery) tokens, secure-customer cookies.
B. Functional
These cookies remember the choices you make — language, currency, country, the fact that you have dismissed a notice — so you do not have to re-set them each visit. In the EU and UK, where required, these are loaded only with your consent.
C. First-party analytics
Shopify provides Bussey with basic, first-party analytics about how the storefront is performing — how many visitors arrived, which products were viewed, where the journey ended. The data is largely aggregated and is not used to advertise to you on other websites. In the EU and UK, where required, these cookies are loaded only with your consent. We do not, at launch, run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising tool.
3. What we do not use at launch
At launch Bussey does not use:
- Marketing or advertising cookies (no Meta Pixel, Google Ads tag, TikTok Pixel, Pinterest tag, or similar).
- Third-party analytics platforms (no Google Analytics, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or similar).
- Cross-site retargeting or audience-matching tools.
- Live-chat or customer-care third-party platforms (e.g. Gorgias, Zendesk, Intercom).
- Email marketing platforms separate from Shopify's own Shopify Email (no Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar).
- Review or user-generated-content platforms (e.g. Yotpo, Okendo).
If we add any of these in future, we will update this Policy and (where required) seek your consent before the relevant cookies are placed.
4. Managing your preferences
On your first visit from the EU or UK, you will see a cookie banner asking your consent for non-essential cookies (functional and first-party analytics). You may accept all, reject all (except strictly necessary), or set granular preferences. You can change your preferences at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the website footer. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent the site from working properly.
In jurisdictions where opt-in consent is not required (e.g. the United States and Australia), the banner may operate on an opt-out basis or may not appear at all, in line with local law.
5. When we will update this policy
We will update this Policy each time we materially change the cookies we use — including each time we add a new third-party tool that places cookies. Where the change involves cookies requiring your consent, we will seek that consent afresh before the new cookies are placed. The current version of this Policy will always be available at ggbussey.com/cookies.
6. Do not track & global privacy control
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signals. We honour GPC signals as an opt-out of "sale" and "sharing" of personal information for California residents and equivalent state-law residents. As we do not engage in the sale or sharing of personal information at launch, this signal in practice affects only the functional and analytics cookies described in section 2.
